Tamara Volskaya is one of the world’s foremost virtuosos of the domra (Russian mandolin), having performed with major symphony orchestras across four continents. She is a Merited Artist of Russia, Laureate of Soviet musical competitions, and a Professor at the Mussorgsky Ural State Conservatory. Trofimov, Volskaya’s husband, is a master of the boyan (Russian accordion).
Founded in 1957, the Munier Mandolin & Guitar Orchestra continues the tradition of the American mandolin orchestras, which flourished during the early decades of the 20th Century.
